Leadership

Silas Thompson
(Lead Pastor)
Silas has been a part of Dover Baptist Church since 2022. In September, 2023, the church voted to appoint him as the lead pastor. He and his wife, Riley, have four children. Silas received his MDiv in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. When not in his office, he can typically be found at a local coffee shop or on a hiking trail.
God used the instruction and example of Silas’ parents to bring him to salvation at a young age. In High School, God began to burden his heart over the reality that many people around the world live with little to no access to the gospel, a burden that grew stronger during his time in college. It was this burden that led Silas to serve as a missionary in Mongolia prior to pastoring Dover Baptist Church. He has a passion to bring the gospel to those who have never heard; a passion that is shared by the church.
Lee Thompson (Elder)
Lee and his wife, Joanne, are the parents of four adult children, and the grandparents of eleven grandchildren. Lee grew up in a Christian home in a small town in north central Pennsylvania. He served in the submarine force of the United States Navy for eight years, worked for 15 years as a self-employed heating contractor, and now is employed as an installation technician with a propane company. Lee trusted in Christ as Savior at age 29, and since then has thoroughly enjoyed serving the Lord in the church. He particularly loves to study God’s Word and to teach it to others. If Lee could sum up his life passion in a few words, it would be to grow and help others grow in Christ.
